Some car companies often decide to sell bikes, and usually make some contracts with some bike builders to build them a bike and brand-name them.

usually you pay a lot for the brand, and usually they're not too good.
Never heard of it myself, check out http://www.evanscycles.com/ for a good range of bikes for all abilities. I myself have a Halfords own apollo which I ADORE, but am hoping to get a Specialized someday, like my hubby :O) xx
