Best full suspension mountain bike money can buy? |
just wondering There is no "best" bike out there, it all depends on what style of riding you do, whether it's climbing, freeride, or crosscountry, if you do competitions, and a lot on personal preference. If you had an unlimited budget, the best bike would be custom built for your body and your riding style. I'd suggest you pick up a couple of mountain biking magazines or try hanging out in a real bike shop (not the bicycle corner of the sporting goods store) to increase your awareness. Personally, I think bikes from Kona are the best. Check out the top of the line models of SPECIALIZED, CANONDALE or SANTA CRUZ BIKES. Being the best is very subjective. for xc-specailized sworks(im not into xc very much so im not exactly sure) for freeride/dh-kona stab, specialized demo, norco shore, cove peeler, santa cruz v10 for all mountain-specialized sx trail ive been mountainbiking for 2 years I like the top of the line Felts and Titus'. Be prepared to spend $6000+ for the best bikes. This is very subjective. How much money are you thinking off? Some mountain bikes can easily get above 7,000 bucks. Also, the better bikes are usually sold frame only, and you would just build it with the components that you want. That could make two bikes with the same frame to feel different. And a freeride bike will feel different than a XC bike, so you can't compare a Turner Nitrous with a Santa Cruz V10, they're just for different use and both are very good. Some of the best brands are Titus, Turner, Ventana, Intense, Santa Cruz, Ellsworth, and some others. They're not as big as Specialized or Trek or Kona. But, Ferrari or Porsche aren't as big as Ford or Volkswagen. Go and spend some quality time in your LBS (local bike shop), visit a couple shops as each shop normally has its own signature brand and may push you to choose their brand, which may or may not be the best. Compare components such as suspension, gears, brakes between brands and go test them, which one feels comfortable, looks good, price right? Only after you have a shortlist, then go any buy one, as stated earlier, DO NOT go to a general store to buy a bike, go to a specialist! |
