What size mountain bike do I need? I am 5'11" tall.?
In order to get the proper size you should have at least 3-4 inches from your crotch to the top of the top tube when standing over the bike. This is a general rule and a good bike shop should fit you to your bike. The length from the seat to the handle bars is also important.
Whatever size bike you can stand over and reach the ground with your feet and not have your crotch hit the bar.
Standover height...you should have 2" between your crotch and the top tube. Lessee...I'm 5'7" and ride a 16" frame...you should take about an 18" maybe. Go to a bike shop and they'll fit you.
