How do I determine my Mountain bike frame size? |
I'm 5'11" and around a 30-32" inseam length pant size. What's my ideal frame size for XC and trail riding? The best way to figure out what bike size is ideal for you is to stop by a bike shop in person and have one a worker, who is usually specialized in the field, fit a bike for you. Also, most places allow you to test ride various different sizes so you can see what bike best fits you and is more comfortable to ride. Probably an 18 inch frame but it really depends on the reach to the handlebars. You can move the seat post up and down to suit your leg length a lot but you are limited to how much you can move the saddle and handlebars for yuor body and arm length. You don't want too much weight forward on your hands. Go and try a few different brands of bike as they are all slightly different in size and one brand might suit you better than another. Good luck and happy riding ps, remember to include the price of a crash helmet in your budget go to your local shop, talk with someone there and sit on a few bikes , test ride them and get a feel for what bike and size fits you..don't forget every bike company has a diff. sizing chart so a size small or 15 in one brand might might be to big or small in another brand i would say 16"-18" but always test ride bikes from a shop, each have different characteristics that about my hight. i ride a 18.5" frame and it fits nicely. i use smaller frames for my size though so i can lower the seat and trick out. for you i would recommend a 19 or 20". |
