Am looking to buy a new mountain bike any ideas on what is a good brand? |
I would like disc brakes front and back with full suspension. There are several options, depending on your budget. Try: Specialized Giant Iron Horse Ibex Marin Kona there are several out there. Go to a bike shop, they have better bikes than general sports shops, and more knowledgeable personnel. rei.com has some great bikes! They are a great source for all outdoor recreation goodies! rei.com Be sure to AVOID anything from Walmart / K-Mart / Target as they sell only junk bikes. Look for special sales from a bike shop. Anything from a bike shop will be 10x better than a department store. Budget really makes a big difference before listing brands. Bang for the buck: Jamis Made in the US(higher end models only ): Trek and Cannondale most raved about full suspension trail bikes: Santa Cruz most over priced for being made by 12 year olds locked in a factory for 14 hrs a day in Asia: Specialized I don't own any of these so I'm not pushing my "brand" just trying to help. Pick the bike shop you like the best and you really can't go wrong if you are happy. |
