Which forks are best for a mountain bike, manitou slate comp or sr 100x with hydraulic action?

Have never heard of the SR 100x and the Manitou is a new piece of kit that weighs 4 and a half pound which is pretty heavy.
Unless you are spending upwards of 拢180 it's not worth while buying suspension forks as they are just heavy pogo sticks for bikes that don't actually work properly.
manitou's - they have rebound damping. As far as I can tell, the sr suntours have no damping but can be locked out.
No damping = naff.
