I am looking for a new mountain bike (hardtail) for around $2000. What brand and model would be best? You owe it to yourself to RIDE THIS BIKE... http://www.fisherbikes.com/bikes/bike_de... It has been ten years since I have seen a bike stimulate the market like this thing has. We've sold our complete size runs of Deluxe and Pro's in two months!!! Ride one - Don't buy anything until you ride one... I had a guy drive back 1 hour to a shop he had been deeling with to take back his deposit on another bike! Source(s): Bike Shop Manager That is not easy to answer. At $2000, you have LOTS of choices and a lot of shopping around to do. God luck. It really depends on What kind of Riding you plan to do. $2000 Can get you a lot of bike. I am a Kona fan myself they are very rugged frames but can be a bit heavy. Iron Horse also makes a few really great bikes. if you want light weight maybe a Titanium bike like Titus, but then your pushing the budget. Check out mtbr.com they have a lot of reviews by people who use the bikes. good luck good price range go for a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR check em out http://www.specialized.com Best suggestion i can give you..... build one. Yep, buy the frame you want and the fork you want then buy a build kit with parts that you wish to have. If you want a freeride hardtail, try a Cove Stiffee FR or Jackal from Cannondale. Banshee has the Morphine and the Scirocco which are very nice too. You can get a build kit with Shimano XT components or SRAM x.9 components for about 500-800 and taht includes Hydraulic disc brakes too plus a wheel set and tires. At 2000, you can get pretty much anythign you want and have a great bike. The Mountain Cycle Rumble was the most popular choice from MTB review. Check out www.mtbr.com and read reviews about what people think about their individual parts/components. |
