Does anybody know what a Trek 8000SL mountain bike is worth? |
I have one that is about 10 years old but doesn't have but 400 miles on it. It's still like new. I put new tires on it in case the old ones were dry rotted, but everything else is like new. I'd like to start riding again and I just wonder if I should keep it or upgrade. It depends on what mine is worth and what an upgrade would cost. Happy New Year! Value wise it's not worth much to sell, but if it only has 400 miles on it, you should be fine to ride after a quick tune up. I had a Trek 830 hardtail (96) that I just sold simply to get a newer bike. Unfortunately, bike technology changes so fast that older bikes don't keep much resale value. If you like the basic set up, a few well placed upgrades could make it your favorite ride again. You might be able to get a rough value from www.mtbr.com and check their "older bike" section.
