There is no lock that can always prevent your bike from being stolen. Get a plastic covered thick braided cable and a combination lock - not the tubular kind, the one that looks like the dial on a safe. Then, never leave your bike somewhere it is likely to be stolen - which is anywhere many people go. No one notices a guy with boltcutters liberating your bike - keep an eye on it if there's any doubt.
