Is there a decent clipless cycling shoe that will fit both the mountain bike and road bike? |
mtb: XTR PD-M970 road: ultegra PD-6610 the mtb is SPD and road is SPD-SL don't think so... not with those pedals anyways. you're stuck with 2 bolt cleats for one, and 3 bolt cleats for the other. Really the only thing you could do is make the road SPD. Can't do it the other way around, because road pedals would be terrible on the trails. You could also just get two pairs of shoes and use them for their respective uses... No. There are road shoes that are drilled for both SPD and SPD-SL, but you would have to switch cleats for each bike. The easiest solution is to switch to SPD pedals on the road bike. I have SPD pedals on my road bike. Love them. Love that I can get off my bike and walk like a normal person. Love that I don't have to worry about scratching up floors (cleats are recessed). Love that my shoes look like a hiking sneaker. There is a lot of upside to using SPD on the road. Ride on! Yeah sorry, I just go with spd's on road and mtb. I do have a "race day" bike with road pedals for those go-fast occasions, but mostly I ride road w/ lo profile mtb shoes and pedals. |
