Wal-Mart (the great seller of Next bikes) does not sell wheels. I noticed your email address and it looks like you live in France? So, I don't know about things over there. If similar to America, then you can get a comparable to stock replacement rear wheel for around $30-$50 USD. A front wheel will be a little cheaper since there is no freewheel assembly to add to the price. You can get a better set of wheels for around $100USD that will be "double-wall". These will be much stronger than the stock wheels and take a lot of abuse. Even if they do get a little out of round, you can straighten them better than the stock, single-wall wheels. Note on the rear wheel: it will not come with the cassette (or cogs or gears) assembly. It usually requires a couple special tools to change the gears- a chain whip and a special socket. If you don't have these tools, you will have to buy them or pay the bike shop to change your gears. So, after adding the cost of the wheel(s), the tool, or the shop labor, you will spend the same amount of money as the whole bike cost. If you get wheels, I would strongly suggest getting a cheap set of double-wall wheels such as the Sun Rhyno Lites. They're inexpensive, but still strong. This will give you a better bike than it originally was. You can also order wheels from shops on the internet such as jensonusa.com and pricepoint.com. Bending wheels and breaking spokes from riding, trueing wheels, buying new wheels, and buying new bikes with better wheels. |
