Can anyone give me an idea what would be a great mid range priced mountain bike ? It depends on what the best bike is for YOU. You should be fit for your bike and it should be built for your use. You best bet is to go to your local bike shop, let them fit you, tell them your price range and let them give you suggestions. Depending on how you are built, how much you'll bve riding, the terrain and what you're looking for in a bike will all determine what would qualify as a "good" bike for you. Good luck!!! I got one I'll sell ya for $800. Trek Fuel 80, about 850$ new KHS, Trek, Specialized, and Giant all have bikes in different price ranges mid-range to most people would probably be between 800 and 2000 dollars, entry level below 800, and high end above 2000 depends on your definition of mid range http://www.specialized.com Buy a used mountain bike. Check out your local craigslist or similar website and if you're patient you can find a great deal on a used high end mountain bike for half the price of the bikes suggested but much much better. Worried about worn parts? The extra money you save you can use to upgrade any parts that aren't to your liking and your bike will be signifigantly better than a brand new $800 bike. |
