Is it possible to stick a bike (mountain or road) in the back of a Jeep Wrangler with the seat taken out? |
I was thinking about purchasing a new Wrangler, but was unsure about how bike friendly the vehicle is. At this point, I'm not wanting to invest neither the money nor the hassle in getting a hitch-mount or tire-mount rack. To me, the back appears large enough to throw a bike in, but I am not completely sure. Any advice? Also, does anybody have any advice on the reliabliy of an '06 Wrangler Sport (or SE)? You don't have to take the seat out. Just fold it up. Front wheel off and in she goes. But I went for the wheel mount and it saves the hassle. They've been on the jeeps I've owned/own since 1994 24/7/365. Mtn bikes get filthy. Keep the great outdoors outdoors and not in your jeep. Source(s): Wrangler owner since '94 You would probably have to remove the front wheel from the bicycle before attempting this. Once you do that, the frame becomes a lot easier to manage. Sure... Just remove the front and/or back wheels. You probably have quick releases on one or both wheels. If your bike doesn't have quick releases maybe you should consider upgrading the bike along with your car, or if you have problems with quick releases go to a bike shop for a lesson on their proper use... they really are easy to use. 26 years in the industry. |
