Is it possible to hydroplane with a mountain oe trick bike? |
Is it possible to hydroplane with a mountain oe trick bike? Narrow & higher pressure tires are more likely to break loose because of the smaller contact patch on the ground. It'll also be more prone to break loose in hard braking especially going tight into corners. If you watch some of the road racing on wet & rainy stages, you'll see what happens when flying into wet corners and having to really get on the brakes. If there is enough water, you can hydroplane anything. I think you'd have to be going very fast. And you'd need big, slick tires, kinda like on a BMX, but you can get them for a mountain bike. But like i said before, you'd need to be flying. And then it would be dangerous, because you only have 2 wheels, and tipping over would be very easy. i don't think so. the tires are too thin to get any air under them. |
