Best Mountain Bikes that allow for a child seat?

Looking for a decent - light Mountain Bike that allows for a Child seat. Unfortunately, it can not have disk brakes or rear suspension. Within the Specialized, Giant, Raleigh or Mongoose products. Thank you

Whatever anyone says, don't be fooled when it comes to name brands. Many Diamondback, Raleigh, Trek, and Specialized bikes are built in the same factory. Both Diamondback and Raleigh tend to have 1 level better components than the others for the same price. I have sold all these brands before and there is no difference in service requirements or durability based on brand alone.

Anyway, I assume that you aren't going to be bouncing down a mountain with your child, so I would suggest that you look at a Raleigh Mojave 4.5 (if you plan on going offroad alone) or Mojave 2.0. These are considered ATB's or "all terrain bikes"... for on road, or off road on smoother trails.
If you are going to stay on the road or groomed trails and expect rides of 10 miles or less, the Venture 3.0 or 4.0 are both nice comfort bikes.

When you have finally made your choice, make sure both you and your child are wearing the best helmet you can buy. Even the most expensive helmet is cheaper than a trip to the hospital. Source(s): 27 years in the industry
Each of these brands have models that will fit a child seat. I would stay away from Raleigh and Mongoose since their quality has really declined since they began selling bikes on the mass market and big box stores. Find a reputable shop with Specialized or Giant or find a model that fits in your price range.
your right, dual suspension wont work well (although it might), a hardtail frame will be the most secure. my dad actually had one on his Diamondback when my brother was younger (back when diamondbacks were good bikes). theres no reason you cant use disc brakes. they are more reliable than rim brakes, and more powerful, so you just have to be careful when braking with a baby in the bucket.
Although many people will tell you differently, I would NEVER put a child seat on the back of a bike. If you go down, the child does too. Helmet or not, that kid is probably going to get hurt. If you must take your baby when you ride your bike, get a pull-behind two wheel cart, such as those made by Burley or some other reputable company.
