Can a bike expert compare these two bikes? |

You can't see the product before you buy it, consequently you don't know if it has the proper frame size for you, or the quality of the various components. There is nothing worse than coming down with aches and pains from riding an improperly-fitted bike. Go to a local bike shop where they can custom-fit you to a bike. Ask plenty of questions, learn about the various components, and why cheap full-suspension bikes are not a good idea. When you say comparing these two bikes, do you mean to say comparing merely the parts or the actual performance? If you only wanna compare the parts, then both bikes look pretty good - you pay for what you get. The GMC looks better with a lower price tag. But then again, expensive components do not mean you get a better bike. It also depends what you use the bike for: off-road, cross country, leisure or downhill. If you're not one of those hardcore, dedicated bikers who use it for a single purpose, I'd recommend the GMC. :) Yea, i could agree with the first guy. But if you really wanna buy a bike from the internet, you should try looking at bigger mountian bikes if you are a taller person and upgrade it as you get to like the bike better to maximize preformence. Just looking at the info, I'd say the GMC Topkick. No offense, but they both suck. Spend the extra $100 and buy a Trek 4300 or Specialized Hardrock from you LBS. That way they can set you up with the right size bike and you will get a better quality bike as well. I don't even have to look at these bikes to know I agree with shades. If you are serious about getting a bike, get one made by a bike manufacture, then haul it around with a GMC truck. Mongoose for sure, it is way worth the money the parts are much better and who heard about a GMC bike before? |
