Bike riding and toning my legs? |
I am buying a new bike today because I want to tone up my legs (mainly the thigh area). I am a female, so I know there must be SOME amount of fat there... but not much. I work near a forest preserve with dirt trails, so I am buying either a mountain bike or a trail bike. If I ride at least 1 hour every day, how long will it be (estimate) before I start noticing some serious results in more long, lean, toned thigh muscles? Thanks! I ride my bike every day just around were i live and i can say that in a week i noticed that my thighs were begining to be more muscle and less fat. it really helps to ride your bike up big hills. Source(s): experiance Depends of your personal body type or how your body works.Because something that works for others might not work of you my life Well, if your planning to ride at least an hour everyday, that's great. But, the other thing is it depends how fast you pedal, & what gear you have it on. If it's a higher gear, than you'll build great muscle. Also, if you pedal faster, this will burn fat. Overall, I can't assure you when you'll see serious results, it really depends how hard your working at it. Most likely, you will see results within a couple weeks.:) Hope this helps... Be careful. Your legs may not slim but rather get larger tone / muscle. If you you want muscle do hills, if you want to slim, stay on flat riding with a low gear. For your desired need I would not recommend riding every day, I would suggest mixing-up with swimming, walking, running and light lifting. You may want to consult a specialist as well. Best of luck and enjoy! |
