How Big a Mountain Bike Should I get? thx for help!?

Hi I'm not a biking expert so I just want to know:

I'm 6 ft tall, male and I'm thinking of getting a mountain bike.
How big should that bike be? ie. height? width? Wheel diameter?

i'm particularly interested in the wheel diameter. Is a 22 inch diameter too small?

Mountain bikes are measured in inches along the seat tube. You would need about a 19" frame if you are getting a 'standard' 26" wheeled bike. The rim O.D. will measure about 22 inches, where is where I am guessing you are getting that figgur.

A 29'er is a mountain bike with larger wheels(29" versus 26") ; in most cases, you need to get a frame one size smaller, which would generally be 17.5".

Hit a bike shop to get the real skinny; visit during the week as opposed to the weekend rush time for the best service.
