Can anyone tell me where I can get brakes & gears for a Huffy Stone Mountain Bike?

I have a Huffy Mountain Bike & it doesn't have brakes & gears. I have looked every where on the net & nobody has the parts that I need for my bike. Wal-mart & Kmart doesn't sell parts like that. Can anybody me help me out?

It's true...with the cost of labor and parts at my shop you could buy the same bike brand new

pads about $8
cables $12
freewheel $20
labor $25

total $65 and this is without tax and other things that might be wrong with the bike.

best place is Ebay, pricepoint.com, or nashbar.com, but you won't find them under "Huffy" because they don't make the brakes or gears. Most huffy bikes came with low end Shimano levers, shifters, brakes, and derailleurs. Usually they come from the Tourney, Alivio, or Acera line of components at Shimano. Of course you will find all of these parts at the bike shop too, but the price will typically be full retail.

Not knowing exactly what parts you are missing, I am guessing you could be out $50-$75 minimum in parts with no lablor.

Honestly, if your huffy has been stripped of all of its parts, you can buy a new Huffy for less than the sum of the components. These bikes are cheap/recreational quality bikes and most people will just buy a new one when the parts wear out.

Comparable to a 120 year old woman wanting a facelift. Don't waste your $ on replacing parts on a bike that's worth less than the parts.

Look in your 'phone directory for bicycle shops.

Google for bicycle parts and accessories

DH1 is way off on this I am afraid. Most Huffys use stuff much cheaper than Shimanos lowest grade.

This might sound dumb, but it will be MUCH cheaper to buy a new one of these at Walmart- I think they sell for about $70- than to start replacing parts.
