Used vs New mountain bike? |
I am looking for a new freeride bike for both dh and riding around the neighboorhood. i am willing to spend about 2100. should i get a used bike (that would be a lot more expensive if new) or a new bike in the same price range? I will ride the bike pretty frequently. It's a hard question. In part, you could get a nicer specked bike if you buy it used. What I would be concerned is that FR or DH rigs are designed to be ridden hard, so that you don't know how much stress a used bike would have. I would never recommend buying a used bike for freeride. The thing to consider is how much a warranty is worth to you. A new bike will come with a warranty on at least the frame, and a used bike not have a warranty. |
