Can anyone explain why, after a 25 miles of mountain bike ride, Ive put on 1/4 of a stone? |
I know if you lift weights the muscle ways more than fat but this is cycleing, wtf going on ? that cant be right can it. ignore the "of" Because after riding for that long your muscles start to tear, then when they are repaired they become bigger and stronger. Muscle Weighs more than fat so, In the intention of losing weight you actually gained muscle mass. (You also lost the fat that you might have had. But the muscle mass was a larger number than the fat lost) If your exercising to tone up, its best not to use scales as a measurement; like you said, muscle mass weighs more than fat so you are not going to get an satisfactory results curve. cycling also puts on muscle mass since are working out regardless. That's why there are spinning classes out there - spinning is basically cycling on a stationary bike. Well, I would of thought that when you cycle it builds up the mussles in your legs, simple, you drank more water than you sweated out. also, scales jump around and are not all that accurate. Have you thought about getting off the bike before re-weighing? Your scales are knackered. DID you Drink water?? the closer to the ground you are, the heavier you get. weigh yourself again sat on your bicycle. wtf? Cycling muscles up your legs Take a shower, it's MUD. |

I had that model a while ago. I would go with a Rock Shock Reba with the U-Turn feature. It's a pretty nice, light and responsive fork than can be manually adjusted from somewhere around 90m... It is NOT a good bike for the money- not for $550 and not for $399. Just so you know, it is equipped with mostly Shimano Altus stuff... same as you would find on a $200-250 bike. You would do mu... I'm not even going to ask for a mountain bike category when the name "cycling" can't be changed to indicate that this is not the MOTORCYCLE category. What is aggravating is that... Any day now ...I don't know much which brands you can get over in the UK. Well, regarding on some pointers: 1. Look for hardtails. At your budget, you will be able to find some nice hardtails for what... Buy the best bike you can find at your price range from an actual bikeshop. When you want to upgrade it they will know exactly what you need. Bikes built in a bike shop are worth the actual price... sorry to say, but you will never find a QUALITY bike with disc brakes for under 150.00. i dont think you will ever find a decent bike WITHOUT disc brakes for that price. i would save my pennies for... |
