I stole a bike and the owners took my number.?

ok me and my friends were biking down and saw a house that caught on fire and it looked abandoned. It was like a bike paradise, they had about 20 mountain bikes there. So what else were us kids suppose to do? So we all took a bike and respray painted it, modded the bike up with new gearing and new parts and it came out nice, spent about 300 into it. Today me and friends went back to the house and looked at the bikes again. A car pulles up soo fast with 2 men in it. We got scared so we got on the stolen bikes and RAN as fast as we can. they had cars so they caught up to us. I threw my bike in the woods and ran behind a tree. They saw me and caught me. I told them that i didnt do anything and me and my friends were just looking at the bikes, they called the police and i gave the owners of the bike my number. They let us go before the cops came and then once we left 3 cops came chasing us and we took off.

Do you think they could do anything with the number I gave them?

if what, tell me

and dont tell me i shouldnt do it or give the bike back because i spent over 300 dollars in parts and i dont want them to go to waiste. I hid the bike so if the cops come to my house no one will see it.

im only 14 too

AND DONT SAY I SHOULDNT HAVE DONE IT BECAUSE TRUST ME IM NOT DOING THIS AGAIN. IM SCARED TO DEATH!

If the guys who chased you know where you live then you might have a problem. The cops? Probably not. If they were going to arrest you then it would have happened right then.

My question is, if you have all that money why didn't you just go buy a bike? It certainly would have saved you all of this trouble.

Kids will be kids but it sounds to me like you are lucky you didn't get killed by the guys who caught you first.

You're a thief.

Period.

I don't care if you spent $100,000 dollars on this bike, you are still a thief.

You're headed for a life in and out of jail for the rest of your life.

Think about it.

You shouldn't have done it....you were way WRONG. I hope they do do something..... The house owners are probably waiting for insurance to come thru or something, they certainly didn't need more problems....like THEIR STUFF STOLEN........

Once again .....you commit a crime and confess it here ? Like you don't have a web addy .
A smart person would of put the 300 in a bike of their own hence it's theirs and not stolen with criminal repercussions.
Crime is rampant and innocent people suffer for it in countless ways .
Do the right thing .

1.No, you shouldn't have done it. 2.They can do anything with your number, and 3. You have to be batshit crazy to have 20 bikes and not think at least one of them is going to get stolen. Shame on you, and shame on them.

You stole the bike.
It doesn't matter how much money you invested in it. The fact remains that it isn't yours.
Next time invest $300 in a bike of your own.
The people who caught you will turn your number over to the Police, and there will be a detective coming to your house to do a follow up investigation.
Your friends that stole bikes too will all be pointing fingers at each other, so it would be best if you told the truth about what you did.

I hope you learned a lesson.

Not only should you NOT have done it, BUT you SHOULD return the bike FORFEITING your 300 bucks, AND have charges pressed against you. You should FESS UP and take responsibility for your actions, PAY for your crime and get this behind you ONCE AND FOR ALL.

You should be very grateful you can still walk. I'm assuming the guys who caught you were the owners of the stolen property, right? I know what I would have done. You are sooo lucky all they did was call the cops. As far as what they can do w the number you gave them? If you were silly enough to give them correct information, they can, and probably will, find you again. I, for one, would be devoting a lot of free time to doing just that. I hate thieves. So do most people. I'd keep a close eye on my surroundings for a long while if I was you. Good luck, kid. You may need it.

Don't tell me let me guess. Your parents are liberal democrats, right?
