Which mountain bikes to get??????????

I am looking to buy 2 mountain bikes for my girlfriend and I, just to go on occasional rides - obviously nothing too advanced but still reasonable - maybe 拢200 each at the very most. I really have no idea what to buy. Even if you could suggest a few brands, or maybe copy and paste a few suggested bikes from any websites. i'm just under 6 foot and my girlfriend is about 5. 6. thank you!!!!! (im in the UK)

I don't know much which brands you can get over in the UK.

Well, regarding on some pointers:

1. Look for hardtails. At your budget, you will be able to find some nice hardtails for what you're looking for, but full suspension will be a lot more expensive if you want to have them perform well, and by what I read, you really won't benefit for a full suspension.

2. How a bike fits you and your gf is the single most important issue. If you get two wonderfull bikes with the most advanced components and materials, but they are either too large or two small, you will only use them as clotheshangers. Try to get the bike shop to let you test the bikes and see how they fit.

3. Maybe in regard of the 2nd point, some bike shops could swap some parts when new to make the bike fit better, so ask them how the bike fits, and probably they could improve a bit the fit by swapping to a longer/shorter stem or wider/narrower handlebar.

4. What you must buy are helmets for both of you. What you would benefit of buying, are some gloves and probably a hydration pack, which personally I think are a very good idea. You could take water on a bottle, but a hydration pack allows you to take more water over time and keep better hydrated.

5. Regarding tools, basic: hand pump, tires levers and some spare tubes to take along. Also, a multi tool with several allen keys. The hydration pack is a good place to carry them. If you can, a foot pump with pressure indicator is good to make sure that the tires are right. This is a lot faster than using the hand pump.

The trek 4300. Although the msrp is 300, they'be been going for less. If that is still to expensive, look at the 3900 or the 3700.
On the website, click on the "4 series" or the "3 series."

wont much matter which bike you get at that price; but you do have the power of buying 2 working for you so try to make a deal

i like iron horse bikes but i dont know if they have them in the uk
