Which bike is better? Give pros and cons of both, thanks.? |
http://www.bikemania.biz/Kent_Trail_Mach... I intend to ride some dirt roads and city parks, but nothing to rough. What do you want to do with it? If you're looking for riding off road, then neither. Search for a hardtail in a bike shop. You will get a lot more more your money, a better handling bike and components that do work as they should. If you like to get real value for you money this is not it. I know it looks like it has a lot of features but this is how they overpower the untrained consumer. They bank on the fact that with a large enough list of "stuff" they'll convince you that this is a really good deal. More is not better. I'm convinced it's the full suspension "bling" that leaves most well meaning folks frothing at the mouth. Let me state this simply. Don't buy these bikes. Don't support an industry that preys on your lack of bike knowledge. Go to a real bike shop and buy a real bike from a real bike informed person who can talk bikes. Service is what you're buying from a bike shop. Service and good quality bikes with good quality components. The bikes in the photos are the kind of bikes you regularly see by the ton in scrap yards or goodwill stores. Start a relationship at you local small bike shop. It will make you feel good about where your money goes. Remember, don;t try and spread your money so thin as to need it all (ie.full suspension). If you can't afford a great bike then get a good one insted. If you buy a hard tail your money will go further. Good luck! My brutal honest answer is that in order to reach such a low price point both bikes are likely to be cheaply made and disappointing over the long haul. If you don't plan on riding aggressive trails, then I would buy a hardtail (i.e. a bike without a shock on the rear tire). The money saved there would allow you to purchase a better riding frame and components. Sometimes real bike shops have used bikes for sale, and you can find a good deal on a better made name brand bike (like a Trek or a Specialized) that has been reconditioned by the dealer and sold on commission. Good luck! Both those bikes are cheap, not for real trail riding. They have plastic pedal which might break. Their shocks are cheap and not very cushy. Still they may be fine for you. I think the one on top looked like a better design. You get what you pay for, that is why these bikes are so cheap. try this bike |
