Best hybrid bike for women?

I prefer mountain biking, but I was wondering what brand or kind of bike would be best for mountain biking that also can be used for long distance (because once a year my friends and I like to go on a 70-80 mile ride). Any help would be much appreciated!

I suggest keeping your bike and buying some slicks /street tires for yourself.
Rolling resistance is everything when roading on a mountainbike.
I would suggest a 1.25-1.50 width tire for a rider less than 180 lbs and a 1.9-2.1 for heavy riders.
Also keep in mind that a wider tire is a bit slower but handles the bumps alot better.
You will also be keeping more tire pressure in a street tire,or at least should consider it.
I suggest 40 psi+ keeping in mind that the narrower the tire the more pressure is needed as your own pounds per square inch of contact increases with a narrower width.
