Trek Bike Question? |
Hello! Both bikes are nice and will provide years of riding enjoyment. The big question is what type of riding are looking to do on the bike? If your just riding around town and bike paths I'd say go with the 4300 disc as it will do you fine for this type of riding. If you want to do some light mountain biking on a regular basis I'd go with the 4500. The 4300 will work for some mountain biking if you want to try it out, but if your looking to ride on a regular basis the components on the 4500 will work better and last longer for this. The 4300 disc. I rode both and didn't find the 4500 that much different to warrent the extra cash. My husband got the 4300 (no disc) .. a sweet ride. The disc would be a nice bonus. Harris, for less than $500 ---the TREK 4300 Disc is a finer choice ----get a TREK bike 2008 catalog from your Trek bike dealer----I have one and the whole enchilada is amazing! who cares! just get one and go for it, everyone i know who has a trek loves it. they make nice bikes, get a helmet and tear it up. good luck have fun!!! I don't know what components are on either of the two models you named, but generally speaking, TREKs are better equipped and you will be happier in the long run with a bike that already has what you want on it to begin with and not what you don't need (a disc brake, in Florida?). I would go for the 4500. If you do any amount of riding, you will be upgrading derailleurs, cogsets, and rings at some point in time anyway. |
