How much is my bike worth? |
I recently recieved a Soma Cosmopolitan road bike. However I am more into mountain biking. When the bike was new, in the late 80's, it was top of the line. Today though, it needs $150 of parts and labor to make it better, it's ridable, but the rear derailer dosn't work (The shifter cable is rusted through). Other than that, most of the parts that need to be replaced are the normalones: new tires, new chain, all that stuff. Other than that, she's cherry. I guess what I need to know is, How much should I put the asking price at? Thanks for everything. A late 1980's bike with worn out parts isn't worth much. If you can find a taker, he'll have to put as much into it as you probably want for it. As with any potential junker, put it on eBay with an asking and a reserve price you're comfortable with. Bikes are priceless sometimes... What is she worth to you? hey.. maybe you can fix everything up and sell at ebay. you can sell at a higher price as you just repair it and the bike is almost brand new by then. around $15 I buy used bikes all the time for that or less. A bike with flat tires is worth nothing basically Tires, chains, parts cost money. Junk it |
