I have a women's bike and a child's bike (more like a Jr. mountain bike) and both have y frames. I ended up criss-scrossing the bike's with the back wheels way up above the front. Is there a better way to do this or accessories I can add?
It's a schwinn bike rack.
There's nothing wrong with carrying them that way if they aren't hitting your car or keeping you from getting into the garage or wherever.
If you don't like it, you could buy a product that's on the market (under lots of different brand names) that's made to keep odd-frame bikes sitting closer to level. It's a telescoping metal bar with a hoop on each end. The hoops open up to grab onto the stem and seatpost of the bike, then lock shut to hold the bike. Once it's on the bike, you hang the bar on the bike rack. They run from $14 to $25 but they all seem to be the same quality no matter which brand is on the label. Most bike shops have them. |
