I just got a new bike, and i fliped the bike so i can look at the tires and stuff, and I noticed? |
when i spin the tire, it just a bit wiggles , like not horibly or anything , should i straiten it , and how , wat is the easiest way to , if i have to, ohh yea and its a new mongose mountain bike from walmart , the one that cost 189, I just have to pull on the thing to move the tire around , well should I straiten it, I heard it can ruin a bike that way , but my friend may have been bsing you may not even need to straighten the wheel at all. if you turn the bike over and crank is hard a few times and the bike doesn't wobble then it will be OK. if it does then keep it flipped over stop the wheel and tignten up the brakes until they are just slightly off the rim. get the correct size spoke wrench and in the spots where the rim either touches a brake pad or gets close to it tighten the spoke on the opposite side 1 turn at a time until they are even. You have to tighten the spokes and it may take a little pratice find someone who's done it before and get them to help. you need to straighten it. the best way to do this is to take the tire off and realign it correctly. this won't hurt your bike I work for a bike company (Ernie's Bike Shop) A real bike at a real bike shop would have been built correctly and come with a service contract. You bought a bike at Wal-Mart. Live with it. When you've sufficient command of the English language to be understood, then perhaps someone will provide a reasonable answer. In the meantime, what do you expect if you go somewhere other than a proper bike shop and spend so little. Throw away your heap of junk and take it as a lesson learnt...cheap = junk! If it is not bad live with it. It might be just a tyre irregularity If it is bad enough take it back. (You did get a warranty didn't you) Since you have purchased a Wal-mart bike I think it only fair to warn you that These things are not built to last. The Waltons (owners of Wal-mart) do there homework. Their research shows that most bikes are not ridden very often and most cover less than 200 miles in there entire lives. They get the bikes built accordingly. The corners they cut make for cheap bikes.(but not a very good one). They have a very large chunk of the market doing this. It doesn't help cycling though. Most of the regular posters on this forum love cycling and want to encourage as many people as possible to love cycling also. If you buy a bike shop quality bike you should get a few years or around 3000 miles out of it before you need to do anything more than a simple adjustments. If any of the Waltons happen to read this. If you put decent bikes on your shelves. You will get support from the cycling community. You will also help combat two of the worlds most topical problems. I.E. Global warming and obesity |
