Jose rode his bike for 10 miles, 2/3 of the distance was montain trail, how long was the mountain trail? |
and how the heck do you figure this out? 2/3 of 10 miles = (2/3)*10 = 20/3 = 6 2/3 miles 2 over 3 = x over 10. (2/3=x/10) the answer is 6.66 repeating (6.666666666666666and so on and so forth) CLARIFICATION: are you saying that the WHOLE bike ride was 10 miles, and that 2/3 of that 10mi. was mt. trail? that is how i interpreted the question, because that's literally what it says. Mr. Wonderful, in all his Wonderfulness. 2/3 * 10. You figure this out by either MrWonderful's way, or multiplying 10 by 2/3. 2/3 of the distance was mountain trail, and the distance was 10 miles. Therefore, 2/3 x 10 = 6.6666... miles. That is, of course, assuming that he rode ALL the mountain trail, and not just part of the way... Shame on all of you for doing someone else's homework.
