It's very hard to get off crank by yourself. You should seek help at a rehabilitation center.
it requires tools designed for the job 1) either a 14mm socket or an 8mm or 15mm allen wrench depending on the head of the crank bolt 2) a crank puller that threads into the crank after the bolt is removed (some cranks have self extracting crank bolts that do not require a puller just one of the above mentioned allen wrenches) depending on the type of bottom bracket you will need a puller for either standard that's 14mm socket or 8mm.allen crank bolt or octalink / isis 15mm. allen crank bolt, Pedros makes a puller that has an adaptor for both. now after you screw the puller into the crank turn the outer bolt clockwise and the crank will come right off it takes less time to do it then to explain it. I hope this helps ;-}
I'm a bike wrench I do it every day
Uh, are you planning on putting this bike back together again ? You need special tools for this. You can probably find a book on it at the library. It'll have photo's to give you an idea of how to do it. If it's a decent bike, I would'nt risk it.
Don't try it yourself unless you want to ruin the crank. You need at least 2 special tools whose cost exceeds whatever a shop would charge.
