*Vultures Knob>>>Motorized Scooter

We will be heading to Orlando next month and my 79 year old mom will be with us.?

Can anyone tell me of their experience with the motorized scooters that they have for rent for those who can't walk too far? Are they easy to handle? Where do you put the scooter when you want to experience a ride so no one will take it?

We will be going to Sea World and Universal

Those scooters are great if you can get one. I assume you are planning to rent at the parks...there are handicapped lines that you can go in to avoid the regular line if you are in a chair but be advised the gerneral public now is aware of this and will rent it just to go into the shorter line, they often run out of scooters/wheelchairs very early in the day. I'm not sure if reservations are taken for them or not. Depending of the ride u can drive it onto the ride, otherwise just park it an take the key.
The last time we went my sis rented one in animal kingdom and it was great like having front of the line access..yes she had a bad back and couldn't walk all those parks either. Have fun..

Most rides you can ride up to and they will park it until after the ride. They are pretty easy, if you want to practice, most grocery stores have them available, maybe your mother should try one beforehand. Also make sure to visit guest services, they may have a "special needs" pass you have to carry to allow your party to bypass some lines that aren't scooter friendly.

There are several medical companies that you can rent them from. It's usually better to rent them on a weekly basis from a medical supply company than trying to get them at the parks each day because they go quickly in the morning and are not guranteed plus the price is about the same. They aren't too difficult to use but just like riding a bike for the first time they do require a bit of practice or your mom will be running into things (not on purpose ofcourse). Normally the agent/castmember running the ride will assist with where to park the scooter so that you have it as you are exiting the ride.
Have a safe trip!

My friend's mother had to ride one and it proved very easy to drive. Remember getting a sticker to use in your car, so you can safely park in appropriate places. My friend didn't and had to pay a ticket.
