Where can I find a 1000w 36v hub motor?

I'm looking for a 1000w 36v hub motor for an electric scooter. Does anyone know where I can get one? I have searched on the net and am confused whether I need to by the whole unit or if I can buy a dc motor and replace the internal motor. I've not taken off my hub motor so not too sure type I'm needing. Can you give me any insight to this? Thanks x

what i would do in your situation is, first remove the old motor. then inspect the motor for some type of manufacturer. if you find a name plate on the motor, then do a search for the company that manufactured the motor. on it should give you the model number. well, you DID know the wattage and volt of the motor. where did you get that info from? if all else fails, there's WW. GRAINGER. they have every motor there ever was. another place is JOHNSTONE SUPPLY, and McMASTER CARR. all can be found either on the internet, or your telephone information. good luck.

I would start by enquiring about supply only, from firms that sell these scooters. It is such an uncommon type that it is unlikely that you will find it anywhere else. Or try the scooter manufacturer direct.

me i would split the motor of first..as it may not have been origanally made for the electric ...its possaable that it may have been made for a electric wheelchair..[but dives a gear box for the bike]....
