Can I make my 150cc a 125cc?

I am getting a Motor Scooter (Moped) soon and I can only find 150cc's for sale (used). Is there a way I could get my 150cc and get it worked on and make it a 125cc so it is legal for me to drive?

Would that be terribly expensive?

thanks!

very expensive it would be cheaper to buy a new one for the amount of money involved you are looking at a new piston a new jug (cylinder) possibly connecting rod maybe even a head and that's if you can even order the parts depending on the age of the scooter and the make . why isn't the 150 cc legal
