Motor Scooters??

Hey i live in Australia and i am thinking about getting a motor scooter but i cant seem to find any info on the RTA website about licenising. Does anyone have any info.
I have never drove one before are they are harder or easier than a motorcycle i was told it slike driving a car on two wheels-so much easier than a mortor bike.

Please help inform me of the right information
thank you

What classifies the scooter as a scooter is having a step thru frame. For this reason scooters are easier to get on and off and are usually easier balance. They are generally lighter and have smaller engines than motorcycles. Most scooters have twist and go throttles. You just twist the throttle and the scooter will go. Most motorcycles have 5 speed manually shifted transmissions which require skilled clutch, shift, and throttle work. In general scooters are easier to operate, get better gas milage, and cost less to maintain. I prefer motorcycles because they have better stability on the highway. The bigger the better. The hevier a bike is the less it gets blown around. I live in Kansas so I need a good heavy highway motorcycle. Most scooters are not good on the highway.

They're much "easier" than a motorcycle.

Definetly easier than a motorcycle. Someone who has never driven on two wheels can start out slow on a scooter and quickly learn.

easier than motorcycle

yes look under motorbike trader this is usually find on gooogle

Definitely easier than a bike with gears, and because the weight tends to be lower, a scooter is easier to handle, whether under power or pushing. Performance is similar to a motorcycle with similar engine size. You get usually a bit more weather protection. Biggest scooter currently available is Suzuki Burgman 650 which will keep up with most big motorbikes and is fine for long-distance touring. Many scooters now have a luggage compartment under the seat, which you will never find on a motorcycle either.
