Hello all,
I just purchased a 250cc scooter, belief it is a 257 cvt Lanhai motor. I took the fuel line from the carb, it does not flow with fuel. It will start up when idle for a while and run for 10 minutes, then cuts out.
I have quite a few vacuum and fuel lines in and out of filters, vacuums etc. It is also CA approved so there must be charcoal filter in there somewhere. I need a picture or some detail of the lines to see how to trace this or what should be done. One suggestion is to cut off the line between the carb and petcock. but it is hard to follow the flow on all of these lines. Any help is very much apreaciated, want to ride whenever it gets nice around here?
Regards,
Pat I have started it with key on and pumped the throttle it tries to turn over - no fuel is pumped to carb. I believe this model is a presurized gas tank. Do not see a gas pump on this model. Do see lots of vacuum lines. and CA carb filter.
Thanks very much for you info - It has a electric fuel pump, Key has to be ON for fuel to run, I have the same scooter, Liquid 260 MotoStrada,(Mainstreet) My 260 is not a Cal. model.
Try draining the carb, Pull the 4 nuts and panel under the seat, Loosen the carb clamps and rotate the carb so you can see the left side of the carb, Drain screw is towards the bottom of the carb, Loosen the screw, Turn the carb upright and turn key to ON, Jiggle the carb as it's draining.
Hope that helps, If you need more help I'm a PSF dealer and Owner of the Yahoo Vento scooter group that you can contact me at,
