Changing from Scooter to Motorcycle?

I currently have a 50cc scooter to use now in Dublin and later in London. I'm thinking about changing to a motorcycle for a nicer ride (and to travel faster than 60km/h)

What is a good motor cycle to buy that is of high quality, cheap and easy to ride. Automatic would be great, but I don't think motorbikes have automatic transmissions.

you can get a bigger scooter, buy a 125cc or 250cc scooter and you can get the better speed and ride,
most cycles will have a clutch and shifter but you can get used to it, you can get a small cycle pretty cheap

buy used ones for a starter like look for used bmws or hds

A Honda 125 CBR is your best bet. Lovely bike to learn on. You'll get to work lots quicker and you'll enjoy the ride more too. It has gears but don't be scared, gears are actually fun. It's a skill to master and half the fun of riding. Go for it and good luck!!!

Take a look at the Suzuki SV650... it has enough power to use on the freeway comfortably, cheap, upright riding position, and still looks pretty good.

i'll gine the nod to jezza. Honda's CBR125R is an excellent 1st motorcycle. And a great commuter-bike too.
