Can I put SAE20-50 motor oil in a moped, if the owner's manual recomends that I use SAE20? |
I have an Alda scooter that recommends that I use SAE#20 motor oil. I've looked all over town however, and so far, I haven't found SAE20, only SAE20-50. Is that safe to use? If not, do you have any idea where I can find SAE20 oil? You can get sae20 at any store that sells atv's. but yes you can put sae20-50n in your moped. it is actually better for it. I would not, because it covers too much of a range you can prob find SAE 30, use that. 20 w 50 is to thick ued be better off useing a # 30 but i myself would use a 10 w 20 oil if u cant find #20 good luck hope this helps or even a 10 w 30 may be better if this is a new unit id contact the place u purchased it from first good luck yea u can use multi grade example i have a car that recomends SAE25 but i use a multi grade and it works fine The SAE number is the oil's viscosity (thickness) It can go from 5 to 90. SAE 20 is a nice liquid oil that you can use to mix with the gas.... SAE 50 is close to the consistency of honey and you don't want to even think about using that. |
