Mobility scooters and pushchairs?

what is the law on mobility scooters and pushchairs being on a pavement.i've been told that a pushchair (pram) has to be on the road. i don't know if this was true years ago or has the law changed.

i am sorry about asking this question but apparently it was heared on the radio by a barrister or qc saying it was against the law to push a pram on a public footpath which i think is absolutly absurd

No they are allowed on pavements and in most shops.. Pushchairs and prams for babies have always been on pavements

You get pushchairs in the road when mothers push them off the pavement in front of cars to get them to stop.
This is much safer for the mother but not the baby.

Here in the states we have no laws but we need them, I am all for the disable to get around and enjoy their freedom but it is very dangerous when one of these crosses the road...

guess you dont have kids, why would you put them in danger like that. what a stupid question

half the world would be in court.
If it was law , it would be near impossible to police,besides wouldn,t you/we have to pay road tax ?
I can understand mobilty scooters , they should be on the road,do you remember the sinclair c5,s well they were for road use,and these scooters are nothing more than glorified c5's.
and some of the people who use them ,dont need them, and most of the people who use them are not safe ,personally i,d rather take my chance walking in the road if i saw a scooter coming at me.
