Where can i purchase a electic drive motor for a mobility scooter with out going to the main dealers?

some places will rewind your old motor for you

but I suspect that in your case it will be cheaper to get exchange motor


don't worry, it will be a standard motor, the castings on the end might have to be swapped though :)

You could try salvaging the motor out of a kiddy's remote controlled car, they are quite robust!!

I am not sure about your specific model, but I'll bet money the motor is made by a company called "United" (or "United Motors", I dont exactly recall), based in China.
I have a friend that buys these motors from this company.
That would be a great place to start!

I would look up electrical motor suppliers/serviceing in the yellow pages and ask them, if you are going to try and put it in yourself try to get some details off of the old motor, these people might be able to service the motor ( recondition it) for you.
