How do you disable a governor on a baja blitz mini bike?


I need directions/steps on how to do this

I could give you directions on how to do this, but it is VERY dangerous to disarm the governor on an engine buddy.

Most mopeds use a magneto to generate spark and lighting (separate coils under the magneto flywheel). On carbureted engines a set of flyweights is usually used to govern the engine RPMs. Once a certain RPM is reached, the weights ground the ignition circuit-shorting it out until RPMs drop below the cutoff point.

On fuel injected bikes with an ECU-a Hall-effect sensor is located on the crankshaft end that trips the injectors/pump off until RPMs drop below a preset limit.

Either kind is pretty hard to defeat.
There's usually a very solid reason for putting a governor on an engine-primarily to keep it from over-revving and coming apart with the disastrous effect of throwing small, extremely sharp, extremely hot metal parts through your body as the engine disintegrates. At the very least, the governor keeps the engine from revving so fast that heat cannot dissipate and it seizes-causing loss of control and a crash.

Be Careful if you do decide to do this... you can really get hurt, the governor is only there to protect you.... wouldn't want your engine blowing up on you.

You would need to hook directly to the throttle, but hey, any engine that has a governor, is not designed for high rpm, and will chunk a rod through the block after a little bit of abuse like that...speaking from experience!
