How can i fix a brolen chain on a mini bike?

My boyfriend has a mini bike kinda thingy and the chain is broke in one place is there any way that he can fix it without having too go buy a new one?

he needs a "master link" which allows the two ends of the chain to be connected... he may need to grind the link that broke so that there is a hole in which to slide the master link into place

You can buy a master link for the size of the chain you have. What it is is a link with a clip that you can install between the broken ends. The thing is though, if the chain broke due to age or stretching putting in a master link wont buy you much. It will only break at another point. It's best to get a new chain.
It's also a good idea to check that the sprockets are not worn or damaged. That can also cause chain failure.
