Neighbours from hell!?

My neighbours have lived near us for 3 years. The police are always at their house cuz of constant domestic abuse and constant taunting of all the neighbours.
They have threatened to kill us. They throw rocks into our backyard and at our dog.
They get on their mini motor bikes and rev the engines whenever the neighbours try to talk to each other over their fences. A few months ago they were involved in a 4.5 hour long siege. They constantly lie to the police about the ownership of their house (they rent, but tell police they own it) and events in the neighbourhood (e.g. 1 neighbour dug a small hole in their garden, these people phoned police & said it was a large hole & someone fell down it).
They also have surveillance cameras all around the house. We have taken an AVO out against them but they ignore it. We are the 3rd neighbourhood they have done this to.
How do we get rid of them from our once quiet neighbourhood?!

Your neighbors all seem to feel the way your do so I would recommend you coordinate you efforts as a community.

Do you have a neighborhood watch program? You could at least coordinate your efforts as a group of citizens with the police and each other to coordinate a systematic way to deal with these issues - as a group of people against them - you will accomplish more - but you will need to be coordinated, persist ant, and willing to prosecute!

I'd suggest contacting the owner of the home and trying to work through that person. (Really stress to the owner how these tenants are lowering property values!)

If their renters, have all the neighbors sign a petition and get a copy of it to the owner of the home right away. This way he doesn't rent to them again when their lease is up.

Keep calling the authorities, if the neighbors keep threatening to kill you, get in on tape. They can be put in jail for this!

I would move to a neighborhood with a covenant, or to a very rural place. Then again, I don't get too attached to homes, and like to move anyway.

If they do rent then I think most states and cities have laws that will help, get a hold of the city or state attorney and ask what can be done. If all else fails try the following.
Find out who the owner is, call them and have all the neighbors call also and keep doing this. Also keep calling the police every time there is a disturbance and also try calling the mayor but make sure all the neighbors do the same and say the same things.
Last option is to get all the neighbors together and buy the property from the current owner and tell the current residents move out but follow the law.

I suggest that you and your neighbors video tape the goings on. Cops use dash cams you should use window and porch cams. use this evidence with a good lawyer and go to court.
Do not confront them in anyway. catch it all on tape and be safe. Death threats are considered domestic terrorism and since 9/11 the courts and the FBI take it very seriously.
