Hey! I'm training for my first triathlon - I just want to finish, not actually compete, any suggestions? |
This is a mini-tri - 500m swim, 20k bike, 5k run. Ihave been training for the running and biking and will pick up on the swimming in two weeks. I train about 5 days a week (sometimes 6) and I run about 15 miles a week and bike about 40. It seems like you are right on track. The race is short enough you shouldn't have to worry about food or anythig like that. Make sure you keep at it and perhaps add in some BRICs. Bike and Run In Combination. Go for a ride, then go straight into run. It will let you know how the change in events will make your body feel. It will also let you know how much water you'll need to drink on the bike. Oh and remember the important part: HAVE FUN! Source(s): www.trinewbies.com www.beginnertriahtletes.com Systematically build up for the event by daily and weekly facsimile events that areeach successively harder Gina Pejuan your running/biking mileage seems fine, as long as your are doing the actual race distances as a minimum. and the bric is an absolute must...your legs will feel like jelly at first, but come race day they will thank you. |
