What equipment is needed to pull a vacuum on a R-410a split air conditioner system? |
I took a class a while back on a/c to be certified to handle refrigerant, but cant remember the names of the tools i need. I would like to know specific names of the fittings, hoses, and vacuum pump to connect to a 2ton mini split air conditioning system. The one i speak of is pre-charged with R410a refrigerant, and has a bike valve type fitting, which i believe is where i connect the vacuum pump to pull a vacuum. Im looking for the cheapest most basic setup to get me going... i probably dont even need to look at a gauge, but a single vacuum gauge would be a help... What do i need???? Sorry, but if you are not certified to do this kind of work you could not only damage your system, but release refrigerant into the atmosphere, which as you know is illegal. Best leave this to a professional. Just so you know, you will need at least two gages. its simple.... you will need to buy a set of refrigerant gauges capable of handling 410 a - and a vacuum pump..... you'll spend about 700 dollars to use this set up once for your application plus about $168 for a 30# can of freon if you need it or you can call an hvac company, pay a small service fee of about $75 to show up, then about $250 to pull a vacuum, charge, and run the system to proper specs $800.00 = do it your self $350.00 = let someone else do it savings = $450.00 knowing its done right = priceless solder your joints get an evac pump most have a gauge on them pull the evap section down shut the pump down and wait 30 min to see if it leaks. of not disconnect the pump and cap off access. open the isolation valves on the condenser. if it is precharged the proper amount for the system is already loaded unless you have an extreemly long line run. that is about as basic as you can get. Sorry, If you were certified you woulden't be asking the questions your asking and the way your asking them. Go back to HVAC school. Pay attention this time. |
