HELP ME! how to relieve serious stress and tension between families? |
here's the deal. i moved to colorado to help my mother in law out. we brought my sister in law and her stupid family. their kid is driving me up the wall and he gets my kids to act up as well. i am constantly snapping at my kids. i just want to yank the little bastard up by the hair on his head and just scream at him. i'm totally stressed. i hate colorado i want to go back home, but i know it's not an option. i only have a few more days until the in laws move out of state. what do i do until then? i'm at my wits end and i can't handle any more. the kids mom does absolutely NOTHING to punish her kid. and he can't play with my kids without hurting them. yesterday he ran over my four year old daughters foot with an elec scooter. she's ok nothing broke, but still. he still didnt get in trouble. NOTHING at all. i'm about ready to scream and yell at any one who crosses my path. please help me! Start disciplining the kids yourself. If the in-laws don't like it, then tell them they need to start doing the discipline themselves because their children are brats. It's not fair on your own kids for you to take out your frustrations on them. Remember, you're the adult and what you do and say effects them and the effects of your poor treatment can stay with them for years. They don't understand that they're not the cause of your stress. They may internalize it. Smile because it is only for a few more days. You know that her non-parenting is going to create a really awful adult some day. So, what you need to do is take your kids and go to the movies....the mall....Walmart shopping for summer clothes...anything. Just escape for awhile. Soon you will be back home. (Next time don't volunteer for this hazard duty). Colorado left a bad taste in my mouth because of my In-laws so I know how you feel! If it's only a few days that's left, you'll be fine! I spent 5 years in hell so....you'll make it and it will be a life lesson learned! As far as relieving tension, I sometimes had a shot or two! Not a drinker by any means but I sure needed something for the time being. lol- exercise reliefs stress too. or just go punch the life out of your pillow. Whatever it takes! take a vacation take your kids out to eat and every opportunity get away, if you have a whole day off take off with your family, if you have to put in for time off, stay at a motel if you have to, just get a break away... you only have a few days left |
