What kind of motorcycle helmet should I buy for my 4 year old, riding on a scooter in the city?

Full face helmets for kids are difficult to get in Taiwan, and information about them is similarily difficult to obtain. And I'm not even sure if it's a good idea for kids to have a full face helmet...maybe it's too heavy for the neck muscles. I don't know. Any advice would be appreciated.

First of all, Shame on you for putting your child at risk this way. Scooters and motorbikes are very dangerous. However, I realize that small motorbikes and scooters are as common in Asia as cars are here. It is an economics and traffic issue there and the increased danger to riders is accepted there. That being said, you want to go online and look for a helmet that is SNELL rated. SNELL is a nonprofit organization that has the strictest standards in the world relating to motorcycle helmet safety. A helmet is very important but also make sure you teach your child the basics of safety as well. Always wear leather shoes, long pants...etc...Good luck to you!

In the US, you would be arrested for child endangerment for even allowing a 4-year old to ride any motor-powered cycle ... and for good reason.

Go for the one that saftest if its a a full face one and your worried about neck muscles then take lots of breaks from wearing it. Kids are very strong.

please do not encourage your child to ride a motorbike; it's far too young an age and to do so is irresponsible parenting!
