Who do you start cross country bike riding??? |
I want to cross country bike ride.. but i am over weight trying to lose.. what is the best way that i can start slowly.. and work my way up.. ??? please help.. i am running 6.6 miles a day at this time.. i have not got on the bike in 4 yrs.. and that was only for short runs with the kids.. ??? where do i start.. You're off to a good start if you are running 6.6 miles per day, esp if it is all at once. Is it outside or on a treadmill? You might want to start riding with a mountain bike and if you run outside, ride the same route, then gradually extend the ride further and further. You should be able to ride 6.6 miles in 30 minutes, assuming your riding on the flats and not up many hills. You could also go to a gym and work on a stationary bike to begin with, then when you feel that you are in better shape get yourself a bike and start riding it outside. You'll find that you use different muscles when you ride versus run so you'll probably notice some soreness at first but don't give up. And you'll definitely find your butt will get sore initially, but if you keep working at it, that discomfort will eventually go away. I am sure there are training programs and books that you can find to help you get in shape for a cross country bike ride. The most important thing is you have to get on a bike and start riding. It will eventually stop being a chore and start being something you look forward to doing. Good luck. The best way is never eat fast food again, i did, and ive never been overweight, but loose weight and gaining muscle have surly got to be very similar, becuase ive been working out for like 2 years, but for teh second year, i havnt had fast food at all, and the only soda i drink is sprite, i think thsi has a HUGE affect on it, so if you dont alreayd eat fastfoodd, dont eat it, and before you run, do situps or crunches, and youll get better results, and if your willing to pay money, look into a product called "reliv" its a shake drink, were you mix up 3 of these differn powerds called "fiber store, classic and energize" into juice or water or you can make it into a smoothie, they taste good, and ever since i started taking reliv, ive been able to wake up fast, and not be tired, and i havnt been getting migraines liek i norammly do, and they replace minearls and all sorts of stuff your body needs which average people dont get from eating normal food, belive me if you take reliv you will loose weight, bc it is filling, so you can just drink a shake for breakfast, if you want to know more email me or somthign or go to: http://reliv.com/ Join a local bicycle club so you can start riding with other people.
