I need ideas on healthy snacks for kids.?

I know there are tons of healthy snacks offered on the Internet, but after looking at them I realize that my Grandkids will not eat most of that stuff. They will not eat granola, peanut butter, no good fiber foods and so on. My five year old Grandson likes to snack all day long so I was hoping that fiber foods would fill him up. He will not eat whole grain bread or whole grain cereals. He will eat apples, grapes and bananas all the time, but there must be more of a variety that I can feed him. I will be babysitting as of tomorrow and I have no great ideas on what to feed them for snacks. I tried oatmeal cookies with and without raisins - they would not eat that either. The five year old does nothing but eat and watch t.v. He rides his bike, but is best at just sitting. That is his personality. Kids today are so picky it drives me nuts. All I can do is try to keep them healthy by eating the right foods. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Give them cut up fruit, sandwiches, yogurt, cold juice or water something that is healthy 4 them.
Actually, nuts are good - raw almonds, peanuts, and so on. Maybe you can encourage your grandchildren to move around more - junk food is so bad for snacks and meals, it is all fat, sugar, and salt.

Sometimes my 5 year old grand daughter helps me 'cook' and she loves to eat her own creations - even if it is just a carrot that she has peeled for herself.

Good luck and remember, persuasion is better than coercion!
First of all, they shouldn't be sitting in front of the T.V. all day. It sounds like they snack continuously while doing this. Not good either.

There are little fruit pieces that are like candy which contain real fruit juices. Mott's makes a good one and they are individually packaged. I enjoy these as a snack at work. I started making a good fruit salad and my kids loved it when they were younger.

I use seasonal fruits: apples, bananas, kiwi, pineapple, etc. My sauce is 1/4 cup mayo, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup cool whip. Then, add about 3 tablespoons of sugar to taste. Mix these ingredients well, then fold into fruit mixture.

Have you ever tried apples with peanut butter? It's really good. How about banana bread? I also make pasta salad with the kind of pasta made from vegetables.
Try dried cranberries, nuts and sunflower seeds. sunflower seeds come with/without shells. Banana chips, jerky and ants on log is popular at my house(peanut butter spread on celery with raisins on top).

u can use detox diets to loose weight .The detox diet focuses on getting rid of the harmful aspects of our everyday diet.detox diets will help u to a great extent to reduce weight and be slim.Instead of eating 2 - 3
meals per day, try eating 4 - 5 small meals per day, or 3 meals and 2 healthy snack meals.
Food substitutions can help tremendously when trying to reduce calories and speed up the metabolism.

Why don't you just shoot the kids and save them a lifetime of misery? Until that kid is old enough to vote ,he shouldn't be given the privilege of selecting his own menu, activities or anything else that have a permanent effect on his life for the next seventy or so years. I'm truly surprised that your children lived and flourished long enough to have children!
You've got'em, and now what are you going to do? First, get a good pair of earplugs, because you're going to need them when the wailing and moaning starts. Next, unplug the tvs and ant other electronic baby sitters in the house. Go to the cupboard and the refrigerator and take out all the goodies that are nothing but pretty packed poison. If the carbohydrates per serving are higher than 15, throw it away. Unless the sugar content is less than 2% of the minimum dayly requirement, throw it away. Get the picture? A kid that age can't be expected to make intelligent choices. You must do it for them, unless your plan is to watch them slowly die of diabetes.
Next, put on your walking shoes and get out of the house. take the child along and go for a short walk. Start short, work up, but never exceed a talking pace. That's a pace where you can walk and hold a conversation.
Good luck. You're going to need it until the rugrat realizes that this is for his own good.
