What is a good bike brand?


I need a bike for my daughter. She is ten and needs a 24'' or 26''. What would be a good brand for just riding around. We were considering GIANT, but it is a little expensive. Are there any brands out there good for kids/preteens?

if shes not really going to be doing any intese trail riding ir bmxing or anything, then id just go with a simple huffy or mongoose bike, no need to spend all this money on a bike if shes just gonna ride it around the block

Its best you get a women-specific mountain or comfort bike ( option only). They're FUN to use!
Before you go spending gobs of money on a "good" bike, just go down to your local Target or WalMart and pick her up one there. Bikes for her age are much like shoes; she will outgrow this bike and then, if she hasn't asked you for a car yet, you can purchase a larger bike to fit. By now, if she "really" likes bikes, then you can think about investing some good money in a quality bike.
